Almond Productions’ working process
When the team at Almond Productions is engaged to complete a production project there are three main stages that make up the typical process – pre-production, production or ‘the shoot’ and editing and post-production.
In order to understand the video production process, the three stages are described in more detail below:
The pre-production stage
Vital to the process of providing the perfect video solution for each client, this stage provides the groundwork that can prove essential in saving time and money later.
The team works closely with the client to establish the purpose, content, messages and audience of the video. It is during this essential stage that initial meetings, script and storyboard production and any site or location visits will take place.
The production or ‘shoot’ stage
Having established a format and overall story for the video, this stage involves the shooting of footage and production of any other technical components involved in the project.
The actual shoot is often the most expensive element of a video production project and the cost depends on the size of film crew required, the equipment needed, the length of film being shot and how many locations are involved.
Every member of Almond Productions’ crew is trained professionally and fully insured – in fact, most of the crew members have worked in the television or film industry previously.
The editing and post-production stage
The part where the whole project comes together, this stage can be very time-consuming and requires a huge amount of care and attention to detail.
This stage is just as much a part of the creative process as the previous stages and enables the Almond Production team to insert sound, voice-overs and music to create a professional, polished and effective final product.
The first edit is called an offline edit – similar to producing a rough cut. An online edit, the next stage, is a trimmed and polished version of the video and is used to check sound levels and ensure any images and graphics used are correct and create a strong impression.
Finally, once the video has been edited to the client’s approval, the video is committed to the required format – from a batch of DVDs or a projection onto a huge building to a file to be incorporated into another multimedia project to a podcast or downloadable video for a website.
A creative and exciting process, the Almond Productions team is delighted to share each step of video production projects with its clients.
